About Murray Bridge News

Murray Bridge News is your independent local news service, established by journalist Peri Strathearn in 2020. We publish stories about what’s happening in South Australia’s Murraylands in a weekly email, on this website and via digital signage in the community. We also publish a quarterly magazine, Murraylands Life.

We’re all about:

  • Creating community by sharing local stories

  • Empowering local people to engage with community groups, events and opportunities

  • Being positive about our region and its future

  • Being local: collaborating with and advocating for local people, and being present in the community

  • Guaranteeing a local news service that is ethical, accessible and sustainable

As a family-owned business, the decisions which guide us are made in Murray Bridge, not Adelaide or Sydney; and 100 per cent of our profits remain in the community.

Murray Bridge News is produced on Ngarrindjeri country.

I'm an award-winning, community-minded journalist who has lived and worked in South Australia's Murraylands since 2012.
I am a passionate student, currently pursuing a degree and career in journalism with a big love for my local community
After spending 3 wonderful years in Port Lincoln, I chose to move here for family. My obsession is Timmy, my retired greyhound and my flock of rescued birds. I'm thoroughly enjoying river life and discovering all this region has to offer.
